Powerful SEO Prompts Using Your Claude MCP Stack
Ready-to-use prompts for deep SEO analysis with live data, and for fixing what you find
AI-POWERED SEO & CRO WITH CLAUDE — 13-PART SERIES
You are reading Part 10 of 13. Start from the beginning if you haven’t read the introduction yet.
UPDATED: NOVEMBER 2026
This post now includes prompts that use Google Tag Manager, Google Business Profile and WordPress MCP, covered in Parts 6, 7 and 9 of the series.
WINDOWS & MAC
The prompts and techniques in this post work identically on Windows and macOS — there are no platform-specific steps here.
How to Use These Prompts in Claude
Most of the prompts in this post assume you have GA4, Google Search Console, and FreeCrawl connected in the Claude desktop app. If you haven’t set those up yet, start with Part 2 (GA4), Part 3 (GSC), and Part 4 (FreeCrawl). The tracking prompts also use Google Tag Manager (Part 6), the local SEO prompts use Google Business Profile (Part 7), and the “fix it” prompts use WordPress MCP (Part 9).
These prompts are designed to be used as-is. Copy them, paste them into Claude, and let your live data do the rest. They’re grouped by use case so you can go straight to what’s relevant.
Ranking Opportunity Prompts
These prompts identify where you’re close to page one but not quite there — the highest-ROI optimisation targets on most sites.
“From Search Console, find all queries where my site appears in positions 4–15 with at least 50 impressions in the past 90 days. Sort by impressions descending. For the top 20, show me the URL that’s ranking, its current title tag and meta description (from FreeCrawl), and suggest a specific rewrite of each title tag to improve CTR without changing the target keyword.”
“Cross-reference my Search Console position data with GA4 organic landing page performance. Which pages rank in the top 10 for a query with 500+ monthly impressions but have a GA4 bounce rate above 70%? These are pages where I’m winning the click but losing the visitor — what does FreeCrawl say about their content length, heading structure, and page speed?”
Traffic Loss Investigation Prompts
When something is declining, these prompts help you find out exactly what changed and why.
“Compare organic traffic from Search Console for the last 28 days against the same period 12 months ago. Identify every page where clicks have declined by more than 25%. For each one, check the current status in Search Console (indexed, excluded, etc.) and pull the technical SEO details from FreeCrawl. Group the findings: which pages have a technical issue, which have likely lost rankings (I’ll need to check ranking history separately), and which have indexing problems?”
“My organic traffic dropped around [date]. Using Search Console data, identify which queries and URLs lost the most impressions in the two weeks after that date compared to the two weeks before. Then check FreeCrawl for any technical changes that might explain it — redirects, canonical changes, noindex tags, or significant changes in page content length.”
“GA4 shows organic conversions dropped around [date], but Search Console clicks are flat. Check the Google Tag Manager version history for anything published in the week before that date. Did any GA4 tags, triggers or variables change? Tell me whether this looks like a real drop in conversions or a tracking problem.”
Content Gap Analysis Prompts
These help you find topics your audience is searching for where you don’t yet have coverage.
“From Search Console, find queries where my site gets impressions but the average position is below 20 — meaning I’m ranking but very weakly, likely with no page specifically targeting that topic. Group these queries by theme (you can use your own judgment on clustering). For the top five theme clusters by total impressions, tell me what content I’d need to create to rank competitively for those queries.”
Technical SEO Audit Prompts
Full-site technical audits, prioritised by business impact.
“Run a comprehensive technical SEO audit using FreeCrawl. I want the issues ranked by severity and business impact, not just occurrence count. For each issue category, tell me: how many pages are affected, what the SEO impact is, and what the fix involves. Then cross-reference the affected URLs with Search Console to tell me which issues are affecting pages that currently drive organic traffic — those should be fixed first.”
“Using FreeCrawl, find every page on my site with a duplicate title tag or duplicate meta description. Group the duplicates and explain which version is likely the ‘correct’ one (based on GSC performance data if available). Draft a specific unique title and meta description for each duplicate URL that’s getting organic impressions.”
Tracking and Tag Manager Prompts for Claude
SEO reporting is only as good as the tracking behind it. With Google Tag Manager connected, Claude can check that your organic traffic is being measured properly, and that your tags aren’t slowing your pages down.
“List my top 20 organic landing pages from Search Console by clicks over the last 90 days. For each one, check GA4 for conversion events recorded on that page, then check Google Tag Manager for the tags and triggers that should fire there, such as form submissions, phone clicks and downloads. Flag any page that gets organic traffic but has no working conversion tracking, and suggest the tag and trigger I’d need to add.”
“Using FreeCrawl’s Core Web Vitals data, find my 10 slowest pages that also get significant organic impressions in Search Console. Then list every tag in Google Tag Manager that fires on those pages. Which third-party tags fire on all pages but are only needed on a few? Suggest tighter triggers for each, and tell me which changes are likely to make the biggest difference to load time.”
Local SEO Prompts with Google Business Profile
If you manage local businesses, Google Business Profile adds the local half of the picture: how people find your listings on Search and Maps, not just your website.
“For each of my Google Business Profile locations, list the top search keywords driving impressions over the last 90 days. Then compare them with the Search Console queries for that location’s page on my website. Which local searches find the listing but not the website, or the other way round? Suggest changes to the location page’s title, headings and content to close the gap.”
“Compare the business name, address, phone number, opening hours and website URL on each Google Business Profile listing with what FreeCrawl finds on the matching location page on my site. List every mismatch, and tell me whether the listing or the website should be updated.”
Internal Linking Prompts
“From FreeCrawl, identify my ten most important pages — use a combination of inlink count and GA4 organic traffic as a proxy for importance. Then find every page on my site that’s relevant to those ten pages (topical relevance, not just exact keyword match) but doesn’t currently link to them. List these as internal linking opportunities, prioritised by the organic traffic the linking page currently receives.”
“Find all pages in FreeCrawl with fewer than three internal links pointing to them that also receive organic impressions in Search Console. These are potentially orphaned pages that search engines are struggling to find. For each one, suggest three relevant pages on my site that should link to it, with suggested anchor text.”
Core Web Vitals Prompts
“Using the PageSpeed data in FreeCrawl, find the pages with the worst Core Web Vitals scores. Prioritise by those that also drive significant organic traffic (use GSC impressions data). For the bottom 10, explain what’s causing the poor score and give me specific technical recommendations to fix it — not generic advice, specific things to change on those actual pages.”
Fix It in WordPress with Claude
With WordPress MCP connected, Claude doesn’t have to stop at recommendations. These prompts take the findings from the prompts above and make the changes on your site. Each one asks Claude to save changes as drafts or wait for approval, so nothing goes live until you’ve checked it.
“From Search Console, find posts and pages ranking in positions 4–15 with a CTR below 2%. For each, write a new SEO title (under 60 characters) and meta description (under 155 characters) that keeps the target keyword. Show me the old and new versions side by side, then update them in Yoast (or Rank Math) in WordPress only for the ones I approve.”
“Using the internal linking opportunities you found, add the suggested links to the linking posts in WordPress. Use natural anchor text within existing sentences, add no more than two new links per post, and save each edited post as a draft revision for me to review.”
“List every image in the WordPress media library that has no alt text and appears on a page with organic traffic in Search Console. Suggest descriptive alt text for each based on the image and the page it’s used on, then add it once I’ve approved the list.”
“Take the broken URLs FreeCrawl found (404s with internal links or Search Console impressions). For each, suggest the most relevant live page to redirect to, then create the 301 redirects in WordPress after I confirm the list. Also update the internal links that point to the broken URLs.”
“For the three posts with the biggest year-on-year click losses in Search Console, create a refreshed draft of each in WordPress: update outdated information, improve the headings for the queries they used to rank for, and add an FAQ section from related Search Console queries. Don’t change the URL or publish anything.”
“Fix the duplicate title tags and meta descriptions you found earlier: update the SEO title and meta description for each affected post or page in WordPress so every one is unique, and give me a table of every change you made.”
After any batch of WordPress changes, ask Claude to clear the cache for the edited posts and to list every URL it changed, so you can check them on the live site.
These prompts become even more powerful when combined with the CRO prompts in Part 11, and the automation techniques in Part 12.
